Celpe-Bras past papers, by task, genre and theme

Every written task of the last 10 editions, from 2020 to 2026/1: what you had to write, as whom, to whom and why, with links to the official booklet, video and audio. Filter by genre to practise one kind of text, or by theme.

The exams are kept in the University of Rio Grande do Sul's public Acervo Celpe-Bras; every link here opens the official file there or on INEP's and the Diário Oficial's sites. The task descriptions are our own short summaries.

Questions

Can I download the Celpe-Bras past papers?

Yes, from the official sources. Each link here opens the file where it's kept: the University of Rio Grande do Sul's public Acervo Celpe-Bras, INEP, or the Diário Oficial. We don't host copies.

Which genres come up most?

In the editions listed here: Email (10), Letter (4), and Reader's letter (4).

Are there answers or model texts?

INEP doesn't publish model answers: every task is open writing, marked against a grid. INEP's Documento-base describes what the markers look for at each level.

Why isn't the latest edition here yet?

Its files are added to the archive after the exam has been sat everywhere, abroad included, and we add them once they're published.
